Finally, the first female MLB player – and she’s black…

not really but fictional TV series ‘Pitch’ puts the notion out there

Many are still waiting for a woman to make a debut in Major League Baseball – and they may be waiting a long time.

Heck.

There is still little diversity among MLB managers. But that’s a totally different subject.

The new TV show Pitch is set to premiere tonight on Fox. It plays out the storyline of a black woman, Ginny Baker (Kylie Bunbury), who plays for the San Diego Padres.

The Pitch series will have appearances from MLB players and will showcase authentic team uniforms, ballparks and logos, all due to cooperation from MLB.

This show may not appeal to those who don’t want to actually see women play in the MLB, but it has a pretty cool cast and plot.

Check out the trailer for Pitch.
